{"id":36,"date":"2019-06-04T09:19:07","date_gmt":"2019-06-04T07:19:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ensemblelareveuse.com\/?page_id=36"},"modified":"2025-06-16T14:42:40","modified_gmt":"2025-06-16T12:42:40","slug":"presentation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ensemblelareveuse.com\/en\/presentation\/","title":{"rendered":"Presentation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_tabs][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;La R\u00eaveuse&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;la-reveuse533e-58e3&#8243;][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div id=\"detail0\">\n<p><b>Founded by Benjamin Perrot and Florence Bolton<\/b>, La R\u00eaveuse is an ensemble of solo musicians that works on the heritage of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, a period rich in artistic experiments and inventions of all kinds.<\/p>\n<p>La R\u00eaveuse is frequently invited to appear in prestigious venues in France (<i>Auditorium de Radio France, La <\/i><i>Folle<\/i> <i>Journ\u00e9e<\/i><i> de Nantes, Les Concerts <\/i><i>Parisiens<\/i><i>, <\/i><i>Fontevraud<\/i><i> Abbey, Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de <\/i><i>l\u2019Ath\u00e9n\u00e9e<\/i><i>, the Chambord and Radio-France Montpellier festivals, the <\/i><i>Sc\u00e8nes<\/i> <i>Nationales<\/i><i> of Orl\u00e9ans, Blois, and Quimper, the TNP de Villeurbanne<\/i>, etc.) and abroad, notably in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Russia, Japan, the United States and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The ensemble\u2019s recordings have all been acclaimed by French and international critics and have received numerous awards.<\/p>\n<p>(including <i>ffff<\/i> T\u00e9l\u00e9rama, Choc Classica de l\u2019ann\u00e9e, Choix de France Musique, 5 croches Pizzicato, Bestenliste der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, Gramophone Editor\u2019s Choice, etc\u2026).<\/p>\n<p>Wishing to create links between different artistic practices, to create new forms and to open up to new audiences, the ensemble often works with the world of theater, literature and Fine Arts, in order to rediscover classic texts. It has notably created <i>L&#8217;Autre<\/i><i> Monde <\/i><i>ou<\/i><i> les <\/i><i>Etats<\/i><i> et Empires de la Lune<\/i>, by Cyrano de Bergerac and <i>Les <\/i><i>Caract\u00e8res<\/i><i> by La <\/i><i>Bruy\u00e8re<\/i> with the actor and director Benjamin Lazar, <i>Le Bourgeois <\/i><i>Gentilhomme<\/i> by Moli\u00e8re and Lully with Catherine Hiegel and Fran\u00e7ois Morel, etc&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the ensemble has created numerous concert conferences on subjects that cross music with current affairs: the place of women in music, animals and composers, the history of the invention of instruments, etc. These projects, intended for media libraries, conservatories, elementary school, colleges, etc., have met with real public success. <i>Les <\/i><i>Lettres<\/i> <i>persanes<\/i> revisit\u00e9es, a creation with migrant minors attending school, was a finalist for the Prix de l&#8217;Audace Culturelle et Artistique in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Between 2018 and 2020, La R\u00eaveuse organized musical tours in rural areas in the Centre Val de Loire region aboard the Operabus, a bus transformed into a mobile concert hall. This project has won numerous awards: 2018 FFEA Challenge Prize, 2018 PSA Foundation Mobility &amp; Culture Prize, EDF Foundation 10,000 Volts Prize, SNCF Foundation Coup de Coeur, special mention at the 2019 Chatons d&#8217;Or.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, La R\u00eaveuse has created a major project around birds in music, including musical conferences, school and public concerts and a show for young audiences<i>, The Nightingale and the Emperor of China,<\/i> based on Andersen&#8217;s fairy tale, in collaboration with the puppeteer C\u00e9cile Hurbault and the composer Vincent Bouchot.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, La R\u00eaveuse created <i>the Carnival of Animals in Peril<\/i>, with the composer Vincent Bouchot and the visual artist Morgan Bodart, a second project around animals, including a digital visual concert for the general public and musical conferences\/cultural action.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>La R\u00eaveuse is involved in the transmission of knowledge by creating Les ateliers de musique ancienne, which propose to introduce a large audience to the music and arts of the 17th and 18th centuries, through training courses and educational projects at the Orl\u00e9ans Conservatory, conferences or discovery concerts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>La R\u00eaveuse received in 2017 the gold medal of the Academy Arts-Sciences-Lettres for the whole of its work, in 2018 the label &#8220;European Year of Cultural Heritage&#8221; awarded by the Ministry of Culture, as well as the label Leonardo Da Vinci, 500 years of RenaissanceS in the Region Centre &#8211; Val de Loire.<\/p>\n<h6><i>La R\u00eaveuse benefits from the support of the Ministry of Culture (DRAC Centre\u2013Val de Loire) and the Centre\u2013Val de Loire Region in terms of assistance to convention ensembles, as well as the City of Orl\u00e9ans. The ensemble receives occasional assistance from the CNM &#8211; Centre National de la Musique, SPEDIDAM, ADAMI and <\/i><i>SACEM<\/i><i>. <\/i><\/h6>\n<h6><em> It is a member of the professional bodies FEVIS (F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des Ensembles Vocaux et Instrumentaux Sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s), Profedim (Syndicat professionnel des Producteurs, Festivals, Ensembles, Diffuseurs Ind\u00e9pendants de Musique), and REMA (Early Music in Europe).<\/em><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;3183&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Florence Bolton&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;florence-bolton533e-58e3&#8243;][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]Florence Bolton begins the music at the age of seven, with the harpsichord and the recorder. Attracted by the bow instruments, she finally devotes herself to the viola da gamba. After obtaining a first prize for a viola da gamba and a first chamber music prize at the Saint-Cloud Conservatory (Sylvia Abramovicz&#8217;s class), she joined the early music department of the CNSM in Lyon where she studied with Marianne Muller. She obtained a first prize in 2001. She also holds a master&#8217;s degree in Japanese from the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO).<\/p>\n<p>As a soloist and continuist, she performs at numerous festivals in France and abroad with ensembles such as Akademia (Fran\u00e7oise Lasserre), Doulce M\u00e9moire (Denis Raisin Dadre), La Fenice (Jean Tub\u00e9ry), Il Seminario Musicale (G\u00e9rard Lesne), Musica Favola (St\u00e9phan Van Dyck), Pierre Robert (Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric D\u00e9senclos), The Harmonic Poem (Vincent Dumestre), William Byrd (Graham O&#8217;Reilly), etc &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>She founded, with Benjamin Perrot, the ensemble La R\u00eaveuse, which she ensures with him the artistic direction. With La R\u00eaveuse, she has created several shows including The Other World or the States and Empires of the Moon by Cyrano de Bergerac (2004) and Les Caract\u00e8res de La Bruy\u00e8re (2006), with the comedian and director Benjamin Lazar; The Thousand and One Nights (2011) with actress and director Louise Moaty; Concerto Luminoso (2012) &#8211; magic lantern show and old music &#8211; with the visual artist Vincent Vergone; L&#8217;Heure Verte (2017) with the composer Vincent Bouchot, a cabaret show about the resonances of the circle of libertines of Gaston d&#8217;Orl\u00e9ans and the poets of the Chat Noir.<\/p>\n<p>Very interested in musical iconography, she works on the links music and painting and frequently intervenes for conferences or educational projects on these subjects, especially within the Old Music Workshops of Orleans.<\/p>\n<p>Florence Bolton teaches viola and chamber music in Orleans and during various baroque music courses.<\/p>\n<p>She has participated in numerous recordings at Alpha, Arion, K 617, Ligia Digital, Mirare, Na\u00efve and Zig-Zag Territories.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2859&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Benjamin Perrot&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;benjamin-perrot533e-58e3&#8243;][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]Benjamin Perrot studied lute, theorbo and Baroque guitar with Eric Bellocq and Claire Antonini at the Conservatoire National R\u00e9gional (CNR) in Paris, where he graduated in 1997 with the Dipl\u00f4me Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique Ancienne. He then went on to advanced study with Pascal Monteilhet. In 1996-97 he was also trainee accompanist at the Studio Baroque de Versailles (Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles).<\/p>\n<p>Since then he has been invited to appear as a soloist and continuo player in France and abroad. Giving priority to chamber music, he performs with such ensembles as Il Seminario Musicale (G\u00e9rard Lesne), Le Concert Bris\u00e9 (William Dongois), Musica Favola (Stephan Van Dyck), the Ensemble Pierre Robert (Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric D\u00e9senclos), Le Po\u00e8me Harmonique (Vincent Dumestre)&#8230; He also appears in orchestral music, notably with Le Concert Spirituel (Herv\u00e9 Niquet) or Les Arts Florissants (William Christie).<\/p>\n<p>He is co-founder of the ensemble La R\u00eaveuse with Florence Bolton. He also created the production l&#8217;Autre Monde ou les Etats et Empires de la Lune with the actor and director Benjamin Lazar.<\/p>\n<p>Benjamin Perrot has taken part in more than fifty recordings for labels including Accent, Accord, Alpha, Calliope, Glossa, K617, Mirare, Na\u00efve, Zig-Zag Territoires&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>He teaches lute and theorbo at the Conservatoire of Versailles and is a r\u00e9p\u00e9titeur at the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles.
