The poetic genre of madrigal dominates the refined courtyards of 16th century Italy. At the turn of the century, when everything seems to accelerate in terms of arts and ideas, appears Claudio Monteverdi. This great composer, passionate about theater and whose Orfeo is considered as the first real opera, makes explode the madrigal to give a renewed form, a real little miniature opera. With a great modernity, his madrigalesque work opens the way to the great opera composers of the following era, Rossi, Lully, Purcell or Handel.

Les Ateliers de Musique Ancienne also offers a project around ornamentation in 16th and 17th century music, in collaboration with the classes of Jean-Charles Legrand (Conservatoire de Fleury) and UCEM. Master-classes in free entry on January 18 and March 28, 2020 at the Conservatoire de Fleury les Aubrais. Concert of the students followed by a concert of the ensemble La Rêveuse on March 18th at 6pm at the auditorium of the Conservatoire de Fleury les Aubrais.
