This July 28, La Rêveuse will present a new program created to coincide with the “Rembrandt en eau forte” exhibition at Fontevraud Abbey, focusing on music in the time of this great Dutch master.
Was Rembrandt a musician? What music might he have known and heard? This program, at the crossroads of the Renaissance and the Baroque, unveils a part of the history of music from the United Provinces, whose music, nourished by English, Italian, French and German influences, offers us tasty pre-Baroque Goûts Réunis.
Music by John Dowland, Nicolas Vallet, Jakob Van Eyck, Johann Schopp, Carolus Hacquart and Matthew Locke.
Florence Bolton, treble and bass viol Benjamin Perrot, archlute and cistrum
