How can a living composer write for instruments whose
the golden age of which was the 17th century?
How can a French composer illustrate a Danish text about China and Japan?
How does the human brain understand bird song, and how is it inspired by it?
How do you get children to listen painlessly (and perhaps even with pleasure) to music that is reputed to be difficult, elitist, and abstruse, and to guide their imaginations towards regions unknown to them?
These are some of the questions we will try to answer during this presentation of The Nightingale and the Emperor of China.
Free and open to the public.
